Sustainability and long-term change is the heartbeat of why Loom exists. Yet sometimes it is hard to know: how do you measure change?
Social Innovator Jane Brenda has been a diligent and faithful facilitator of Celebrating Children Seminars and is fantastic at following-up with those she has taught several weeks, months, or even years later. Today, we wanted to share a few stories with you of the long-term impact she has seen from these seminars.
In November 2020, Jane Brenda ran a CCS in Uganda. A local teacher attended her seminar and was impacted by the importance of discipling children. Following the seminar, she visited parents explaining the importance of investing in children spiritually and started a ministry to children. Today she holds a Bible Study three times a month for 50 children who have had their lives dramatically impacted by having one, committed adult in their lives.
In October 30, 2021, Jane Brenda led a CCS where the pastor was impacted by the need to care for children both spiritually and physically. Following the CCS, he started to train other local pastors on the importance of children’s ministry. Today, most of the churches in the area have Sunday School for children because of his trainings!
And in July 2022, Jane Brenda ran a training, again in Uganda. A local county official attended her training and was struck by his God-given responsibility for the well being of children and families. As a result, he started visiting families who mistreated their children and involved local leaders – having them help to make visits. To date, he has personally mobilized 40 people to attend different CCS trainings. This is the kind of impact we love to see the CCW curriculum making on communities!
