From the very beginning, we have written our curriculums with the hope that they will be translated into local languages and adapted to local cultures and learning styles. To see this happening in the past year has been a dream come true!
So far in 2021, our Next Steps Curriculum has been translated into Swahili and is currently being translated into Kirundi and French. The Swahili translation has already been used in a weekend teachers’ seminar led by John, a Social Innovator and educator in Tanzania. John wrote, “70 teachers attended the seminar this year…the feedback from the teachers was so encouraging. During the seminar, many teachers said the topics were exactly what they wanted to hear and know.”
At the end of this month, the Kirundi translation will be completed and used in a seminar in Burundi. We look forward to seeing the continued ripples of impact as participants hear concepts in their own languages, and a greater number of community members have access to multiplying the materials in their own schools, churches, and homes.
