Menstruation
DESCRIPTION:
According to Project Humanity, an international organization dedicated to identifying and supporting women’s empowerment projects in rural Africa, schoolgirls in Kenya miss, on average, almost a week of school every single month owing to menstruation. 70 per cent of all reproductive diseases in India are caused by poor menstrual hygiene.
In many communities, the stigma around a women’s body, her menstrual cycle and the high cost of hygiene supplies are barriers to the resources she needs for health.
PLEASE PRAY FOR:
- For sound biblical teaching on the value of women and girls and their treatment as equals.
- For equitable access to hygienic services.
- For an appreciation and celebration—globally—of a woman’s body and conversations that would center around beauty rather than shame.
