Climate Change
DESCRIPTION:
The UN Human Rights Council recently acknowledged that children, particularly displaced and those from migrant families, are among those most at risk to the adverse impacts of climate change. According to the World Health Organization, climate change is expected to cause approximately 250,000 additional deaths per year between 2030 and 2050, due to malnutrition, malaria, diarrhea and heat stress.
We believe God has given us a specific mandate to care for and cultivate the earth, as well as care for the poor and vulnerable.
PLEASE PRAY FOR:
- That biblical teaching on the imago dei would help the global church speak out on behalf of the vulnerable.
- For the local church to have wisdom in caring for those affected by climate change.
- For the witness of the church against greed, fear, or apathy towards our neighbor.
