Investing in women is one of the most effective ways to create sustainable change.
Yet according to global statistics, just 39 percent of rural girls attend secondary school or have any kind of job skills training, and it is estimated that 60 percent of chronically hungry people are women and girls. Without education a woman’s job opportunities are limited to survival, such as working in the coffee fields for 25 cents a day.
Our partners work with women victimized by sexual exploitation, war, HIV/AIDS, and extreme poverty. They provide job skills training, small business skills, microloan and savings groups. Loom is committed to investing in projects that empower women to contribute positively towards the thriving of their communities, believing that when women rise, we all rise.
